After nearly four decades of caring for the eyesight of Western New Yorkers, Faruk M. Koreishi, MD, FACS, has been recognized as the Ross Eye Institute Community Ophthalmologist of the Year.  The award, in recognition of Dr. Koreishi’s leadership and community service, was given at the Vision Beyond Sight Foundation’s First Annual “Eye Ball” this spring.

Since establishing a Buffalo-area practice in 1975, Dr. Koreishi shared his skill as a surgeon not only with thousands of patients, but also with hundreds of medical students as a faculty member at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is currently in practice with the Retina Consultants of Western New York.

Dr. Faruk Koreishi, who established a Buffalo practice in 1975, was recognized as the Ross Eye Institute Community Ophthalmologist of the Year at the Vision Beyond Sight Foundation’s First Annual “Eye Ball” this spring. He’s currently in practice with the Retina Consultants of Western New York, with offices in  Orchard Park, Williamsville, Niagara Falls and Ellicottville.

BUFFALO, NY – After nearly four decades of caring for the eyesight of Western New Yorkers, Dr. Faruk Koreishi has been recognized as the Ross Eye Institute Community Ophthalmologist of the Year.  The award, in recognition of Dr. Koreishi’s leadership and community service, was given at the Vision Beyond Sight Foundation’s First Annual “Eye Ball” this spring.

The award’s sponsor, The Ross Eye Institute, provides diagnostic, treatment, and surgical services while serving as a research center for diseases of the eye and providing education to medical personnel in Western New York. 

Since establishing a Buffalo area practice in 1975, Dr. Koreishi (right) shared his skill as a surgeon not only with thousands of patients, but also with hundreds of medical students as a faculty member at The State University of New York at Buffalo.

His personal and professional contributions to the greater good extend beyond his practice and beyond Western New York. Hospice, Meals on Wheels, Doctors Without Borders and many other charities count Dr. Koreishi as a friend. Professionally, Dr. Koreishi has served as President of the Asian American Physicians Association as well as the Western New York Ophthalmology Association.  

Dr. Faruk Koreishi is currently in practice with The Retina Consultants of Western New York, with offices in Williamsville, Orchard Park, Niagara Falls, and Ellicottville.
