On August 20th<\/sup> 2013, our IT person Bob Souliske, released a new novel entitled \u201cAncient Darkness\u201d in conjunction with Tate Publishing LLC.<\/p>\n

Ancient darkness is a fantasy novel in the traditions of the classics like Lord of the Rings and the Chronicles of Narnia. However, it does not emulate or simply copy these classics, instead it tips its hat to them and attempts to forge forward.<\/p>\n

The story takes place during a time of a \u201creligious war\u201d. An empire has risen that fanatically follows a religion of their own making. They have waged war upon all that refuse to follow. This \u201choly war\u201d has consumed the world of Shadora, and in doing so has awaken and ancient and malevolent evil.<\/p>\n

The main groups of characters are in the wrong places at the wrong time. They are thrown into the heart of the war as defenders of the truth \u201cLight of creation\u201d. They will defy and empire and resist an ancient darkness.<\/p>\n

Jim Miller, marketing representative from Tate had this to say in a recent newspaper article concerning the novel.<\/p>\n

Tate Publishing and Enterprises, LLC found the book had a major quality that it searched for in its products: marketability.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven though it\u2019s a book in a popular genre, we felt it tells a different story,\u201d said Jim Miller, a Tate marketing representative. Tate is a Christian-owned company and he said while the books published are not religious, per se, Souliske\u2019s work \u201chas a definite Christian resonance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Miller said the book is \u201cwell written, has good dialogue, and is very descriptive\u201d in creating a \u201cnew world of sci-fi and fantasy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Creating such a new world is difficult, Miller explained, because many fantasy authors tend to copy classic works like The Lord of the Rings or the Chronicles of Narnia.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were looking for something that would have the ability to stand on its own, and we felt enough of the population will enjoy this book,\u201d Miller added.<\/p>\n
